ijji.com’s Lunia Rings in One-Year Anniversary with Double the Trouble

IRVINE, Calif. – Oct. 13, 2009 – Jekyll and Hyde don’t have anything on the new, highly-anticipated character joining NHN USA’s popular anime-influenced massively multi-player online role-playing game (MMORPG), Lunia. In celebration of its one-year anniversary, Lunia announces the commemorative character, Asuka the double wielder, in addition to bestowing daily experience point (EXP) boosts on players. ijji.com gamers and fans alike pined impatiently for the long awaited addition the cold-hearted swordswoman to emerge – and now she is here to reign the forests of Lunia.

“Lunia is a favorite among online free-to-play MMOs, and nothing makes us happier than keeping that enthusiasm alive,” said Philip Yun, CEO, NHN USA, which hosts ijji.com. “In honor of this fun and fast online game’s anniversary, we brought the fans a couple presents, including lots of exp boosts and one of the most adored, yet malicious characters - Asuka.”

New Character: Asuka

This devious, scarlet woman, Asuka, hides behind her sweet and unassuming girlish charms – with two huge blades, which will immediately put to rest any assumption that she’s one to be messed with. In full school-girl outfit, this fierce and stunning character will school any monsters in a duel – while maintaining poise and emanating beauty. As one of the most anticipated characters yet to be brought to Lunia, Asuka is set to stun ijji.com’s community – slashing and slicing her way into the hearts of Lunia players and ijji.com members alike.

EXP Boost

Each day players log in to Lunia, between now and Sunday, Nov. 8, they automatically receive a random item that provides an ample EXP points boost. That’s just ijji.com’s way of saying, “thank you for honoring Lunia’s one-year anniversary with us.” Persistent players will even be able to acquire up to an astounding 500 percent EXP point increase. In a continuous strive to maintain happiness within the ijji.com community, Lunia gives back in a big way.

The story of Lunia revolves around an intricate plot of mystical characters and fantasy settings. The game possesses a unique anime-influence – with cell shading, in the style of Japanese Manga comics. Players battle monsters and each other over the course of multiple, increasingly difficult episodes, making their way through winding storyline of this mystical tale.

Additional information about Lunia is available at http://lunia.ijji.com.

Atlus Online Helps Celebrate Halloween; Gives Away Steampunk Goggles

IRVINE, Calif. – Oct. 7, 2009 – Under most conditions, the Soul Reaper is not a welcomed sight. But Atlus Online is engaging some of the most depraved monsters of the underworld to help host events in their fantasy-steampunk massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) Neo Steam: The Shattered Continent. The month-long event involves stealing items from slain monsters, and redeeming them at ghoulish characters stationed throughout the game. Also, one lucky player will walk away with an artfully hand-crafted pair of steampunk goggles – just in time to perfect a creative Halloween costume, perhaps?

“Opening doors to the undead might make some a little nervous,” said Jun Hyun Kim, head of game operations, Atlus Online. “But at Atlus Online, we risk everything to make sure anyone who stops by the site is intrigued by the depth of our playful spirit. Neo Steam: The Shattered Continent is a great example of the creativity that keeps players coming back for more – even if it brings them within inches of their lives.”

For players daring to defeat foreboding monsters to collect necessary items and approach the unpredictable Soul Reapers to cash in, several prizes await. Fifty drops with the Reaper results in pumpkin seeds and 100 drops give players 20 pieces of pumpkin pie, both of which can be used for much needed recovery in Neo Steam: The Shattered Continent. Those who are brave enough to collect 250 souls will tout a novel pumpkin hat for all to recognize their permanent status as a premier slayer of demons. And it doesn’t end there. Players should keep an eye out for tickets carelessly dropped by monsters throughout the game. These event tickets will automatically enter them into the drawing for an exciting special gift, a pair of steampunk-inspired goggles handmade by an artisan specifically for one lucky Neo Steam fan.

The Underworld opened last week, providing an additional high-level playground for gamers who have achieved level 91 status or higher. The new map is the latest addition to Neo Steam: The Shattered Continent, which centers on a battle over Neo Steam between two warring states – the Kingdom of Elerd and the Republic of Rogwel. From the onset, customization is key to each player’s experience, as they pledge allegiance to their homeland of choice and select from a number of specialized classes. As players battle to expand their nation’s resources and protect their borders from invasion, they must learn to harness steam technology to upgrade their equipment, learn new abilities, and progress in their chosen class. Adding to the immersive aspect of the fantasy-steampunk world in Atlus Online’s first MMO, the game also features various forms of steam-based machines and vehicles for faster in-game traveling.

Atlus Online fans and gamers are invited to learn more about October’s eerie additions and spooky giveaways by visiting http://www.atlusonline.com for more information.

ijji.com Surpasses 9 Million Members; Boasts Staggering Growth

IRVINE, Calif. – Oct. 7, 2009 – More than 9 million unique registered players are now on ijji.com, the foremost online destination for hardcore games, an increase of 40 percent since this time last year. ijji.com is leading the charge for the growth of online game portals by featuring a combination of modern warfare, car racing, fantasy and historical game play across a blend of gaming styles – from third- and first-person shooters to role-playing and massively multi-player online games.

And experts agree – online portals are attracting, and will continue to attract, increasing followings.

“In North America, consumers are increasingly attracted to ‘free-to-play’ products where the basic game is free and consumers only pay for enhanced features,” said David Cole, analyst, DFC Intelligence. “DFC believes that the companies that will be most successful in this area are those that can aggregate and bundle a variety of game genres that appeal to their existing community.”

“Gamers have made ijji.com their destination of choice because we dared to be committed to fast action, intense online games,” said Philip Yun, CEO, NHN USA, which hosts ijji.com. “The recent flood of new memberships serves as an amazing validation that we are on the right track, offering an unequaled collection of quality, hardcore games in one place.”

ijji.com is home to several vastly different online video games, with many triple-A additions coming soon. From the pedal-pumping thrill of extreme drift racing in Drift City and the modern gritty battlefields of Soldier Front, to the fantastical forests of Lunia, the portal provides an assortment of settings. Some of ijji.com’s games combine facets of several genres, as found with Gunz The Duel, a massively multi-player online realm where fantasy and enchantment meet the industrial world in a clash of notorious outlaws and iron-fisted bounty hunters after the same sparse treasures.

Solidifying its position as the leading online destination for hardcore games, ijji.com will introduce a number of new titles throughout the coming months. Some of the new games joining the portal include:

Alliance of Valiant Arms, a heart-pumping Unreal Engine 3-based multi-player online first-person shooter (MOFPS) that transports players to the deserted urban streets of a modern day world war;
Soul of the Ultimate Nation, an epic fantasy massively multi-player online role-playing game (MMORPG);
KARMA: Operation Barbarossa, an MOFPS that takes place in a Europe that hasn’t seen the end of World War II, where the entire continent is under German control.
Huxley: The Dystopia, the highly anticipated massively multi-player online first-person shooting (MMOFPS) game that mixes twitch-based FPS game play with the character development of robust MMO games;

More information on the portal and the games is available at www.ijji.com.
