LOS ANGELES – Nov. 11, 2009 – Just in time for Thanksgiving, Gamepot (USA), Inc. is rolling out a gift that will keep on giving: Bright Shadow’s official release. With the launch of the free-to-play massively multi-player online role-playing game (MMORPG) known for its cute, anime-style characters, rich community, and imaginative monsters also comes the grand opening of Bright Shadow’s Cash Shop, where players can buy stunning hairstyles, ninja gear, giant toothbrushes and more for endless customization of their characters.

To commemorate Bright Shadow’s official release, Gamepot will be hosting several holiday-themed in-game events over the next few weeks. The events include “A Thanksgiving Nightmare” quest to earn a quirky Turkey Weapon or Indian Outfit, a massive Black Friday sale in the Cash Shop, a Guild Thanksgiving photo competition and much more.

“The holidays are the perfect time of year to roll out a festive and colorful game like Bright Shadow,” said Thomas Lee, senior director of business and marketing, Gamepot (USA), Inc. “At Gamepot we’re always trying to invent new ways to bring fun, free, online entertainment to our community and show them how thankful we are for their loyalty and contributions. We look forward to giving Bright Shadow players new content and events over the next two months and beyond.”

In Bright Shadow, players enter the world of Luciena, a peaceful civilization that controls the mysterious properties of “Soul Power” – an entity that exists within every facet of the universe, in all sentient beings, and can be used for benevolence or manipulated for evil. However, deep within the Umbra Realm, nefarious beings seek to use the Soul Power to enslave, oppress and kill others; believing death is the only path to unlocking its true potential. After enduring countless attacks at the hands of the Umbra, the people of Luciena have dedicated themselves to the study of Soul Power to use it as a weapon against their enemies. Now with the battle lines drawn, an epic war has begun, with total control of Soul Power hanging in the balance.

Like all Gamepot games, Bright Shadow is a 100% free-to-play experience with the option of purchasing “Pot Cash” for special in-game items. A sampling of the upcoming in-game events can be found below:

Alliance of Valiant Arms Launches an All-Out Assault Online; Goes Live on ijji.com

IRVINE, CALIF. – Nov. 12, 2009 – The wait is over. Modern warfare is front and center on the hardcore online gaming portal ijji.com with the launch of the highly-anticipated and ambitious Unreal Engine 3-powered multi-player online first-person shooter (MOFPS), Alliance of Valiant Arms (A.V.A). Prepare for an intense battle to rage as online gamers receive a beautifully crafted, heart-pounding free-to-play game that answers the call of duty. Alliance of Valiant Arms transports the action-hungry and fragging elite to present day, war-torn cityscapes with the promise of combat that blurs the lines of reality. Gamers ready to put their life on the line can download the client here: http://ava.ijji.com.

“Once gamers play A.V.A for themselves, they will wonder why they ever paid a cent for a game,” said Philip Yun, CEO, NHN USA, Inc. “The launch of Alliance of Valiant Arms should have retail-based games nervous, because it isn’t just going to blow online gamers minds, but those of console gamers as well.”

Numerous maps depicting actual modern-day cities obliterated as combat zones and realistic rag-doll physics to animate the atrocities of battle may have gamers pinching themselves to ensure that they are not actually crawling on the front lines. With the launch of Alliance of Valiant Arms, ijji.com is yet again bestowing their community and the online world with a polished game that offers intense high-stakes action, clean imagery and unique battle modes – for free.

Seasoned FPS players, such as Justin “Prank” DeMara, a member of Team Pandemic’s Call of Duty 4 division, lauded A.V.A as boasting “Fast gameplay, heavy amounts of teamwork, replayability.” Having jumped into early versions of the game as well, his colleague Joseph “Nabore” Amorosa commented on the technical nature of the gameply, and how “[A.V.A] takes more skill to master than Call of Duty games.” While the storyline and platforms between the two titles vary, the consistent provision of solid hardcore FPS goodness resonates with any intense PC gamer.

In Alliance of Valiant Arms, modern warfare hits combat zones around the globe where a formidable battle has broken out between the European Union (EU) and the Neo Russian Federation (NRF). Players are tasked with picking a side and squaring off in an unprecedented battle amongst skyscrapers and deserted city blocks. With the signature quick-fragging action of the Unreal Engine 3, combat escalates quickly and tensions run high as players anticipate a bloody clash around every corner. Europe has yet to see more ominous missions or relentless enemies as seen on the streets of Alliance of Valiant Arms.

Console gamers, modern warfare fans and ijji.com members alike must wait no longer; the grimy present-day battle is live and available for gamers able to handle the wrath of war on: http://ava.ijji.com.

One World Direct Offers E-Commerce Pointers to Multichannel Merchant in Bylined Article

On the e-commerce side of WComms’ roster, One World Direct’s bylined article on marketing through shipping posted today on Multichannel Merchant. Thomas Unterseher, CEO, One World Direct, offers the following tips for growing e-commerce businesses:

Use your own packing slip. Even if you outsource your shipping or use a drop-shipper, ensure that you can include a packing slip that prominently displays your logo or name.

Put marketing materials or memorable inclusions in your packages. Most outsourcers will drop inserts or catalogs into your outgoing shipments for a reduced price—this is a great way to get a mailer, promotional coupon or offer into your customers’ hands without additional shipping costs.

Customize your boxes. If you ship U.S. Postal Service Priority Mail and meet its volume qualifications, you can even get free boxes from the USPS for your shipments with your custom design or text printed on the outside of the box.
