IRVINE, Calif. – April 1, 2010 – No time to prepare; grab your guns and go! Domination of the Empire begins with a new patch on ijji.com’s fast and frenetic multi-player online third-person shooting game (MOTPS) GunZ: The Duel that provides an opportunity for 32 sharp-shooting gunmen to win a cash prize by entering a brand new Duel Tournament, which starts end of April.
The new GunZ patch sets the battleground for any and all trigger-happy gunmen scrapping for a spot in the frag-tastic tournament rankings. The top 32 tournament players will move on to a tailored bracket, depending on their rank, and play lethal single elimination rounds. The tournament is a time for individuals to show their mettle, apart from any clan affiliation. Additionally, casual players, who have not had the chance to be a part of a top clan or clan-based tournaments, have a shot at the prize-winning opportunity, thanks to the separate rankings system. Rewards will be given to the final four players standing, and a hefty cash prize will go to the GunZ tournament champion.
“ijji is setting the stage for an epic, bloody and explosive GunZ battle,” said Calvin Yang, vice president of marketing, NHN USA, which hosts ijji.com. “We enjoy such a massive community membership on ijji.com and specifically in GunZ. The new tournament will get every GunZ player – and newcomers alike – into the fray for some great cash prizes and bragging rights - exactly what ijji.com aims to do on through its grand tournaments.”
GunZ is a MOTPS set in a world where fantasy and magic meet the progress of the industrial revolution. Treasure seekers, bounty hunters and rogue explorers use stealth, magic and cunning as they face notorious outlaws and bounty hunters in non-stop adventures across the Empire and the Republic, two previously warring nations. In a world enjoying a rare and recent emergence of peace, players engage in a wide range of game modes – including intense deathmatch, berserker deathmatch, team deathmatch, assassination, duel and survival mode – and story-heavy quests and missions. GunZ offers players non-stop action in a community-centric environment highlighted with deep character customization and progression – on both sides of the Atlantic.
