Can you walk the walk AND talk the talk? Wonacott has an immediate opening for an experienced Account Executive or Senior Account Executive to work with clients in the interactive entertainment/online entertainment and consumer product spaces.

You: A talented, seasoned, aggressive and sociable AE or SAE-level PR pro ready to join our growing team.

You have 

  • At least 4 years of legit experience in public relations, preferably at a PR agency
  • Experience in – and passion for – video games (console, PC and mobile), digital music, digital video and consumer electronics (basically, a “geek”)
  • Familiarity with both B2B and B2C clients/accounts
  • History of success utilizing social media in communications programs
  • Outstanding writing skills for public relations. You will be writing press releases, plans, press kit materials, media pitches, etc.
  • Direct experience in pitching both national and regional media (consumer, enthusiast, business and trade), and can demonstrate past success
  • Proven ability to serve as a day-to-day client contact
  • The ability to work well with limited supervision; integrity and accountability are a must
  • A pleasant personality and a great sense of humor; easy to work with, creative and fun!
  • Ability to manage personnel and mentor junior staff

WComms is looking for an Intern

Hey, aspiring PR pros! We have an immediate opening for a Public Relations Intern to work with clients in the online media/entertainment, technology and consumer spaces. This position may be either part or full time, depending on the candidate’s availability.

Who we’re looking for:

A talented, aggressive and outgoing aspiring PR pro to actively play a valuable role as part of our team while learning and honing their public relations skills. PR Interns should be available for 20-40 hours per week and will receive an hourly salary of $10.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct media relations and develop story angles
  • Research media contacts and create strategic media lists for media outreach
  • Develop and create press materials
  • Contribute actively in brainstorms for PR campaigns, activities and events
  • Conduct research for new business proposals
  • Monitor and compile news coverage

WComms Welcomes PR Pros Damion Martin, Racheal Caswell

Wonacott Communications welcomes the talents of two public relations professionals, Damion Martin and Racheal Caswell.  Damion joins WComms as account director on the agency’s corporate/B2B team, and Racheal joins as a senior account executive focusing on digital media and interactive entertainment.

As Account Director, Damion will help lead the agency’s further growth and expansion in select corporate/B2B verticals.  He oversees corporate communications, media relations, service launches and digital/new media communications strategies for a number of WComms’ corporate and B2B clients, including Equity Risk Partners, One World Direct and Automation Anywhere. He joins WComms from All Nippon Airways (ANA), one of the world’s largest commercial airlines and Japan’s largest domestic carrier, where he headed up all North American public relations and marketing communications efforts.  Prior to ANA, Damion worked with a variety of technology, convergence and e-commerce clients at PR agency Rogers & Cowan, including Texas Instruments DLP Products, Shopzilla.com, id Software and Activision.  He holds a Bachelors Degree in Communication from University of the Pacific and is a candidate for a Masters Degree in Public Relations.

A former video games reviewer for Hollywood Previews, Racheal started her public relations career at Bender/Helper Impact in Los Angeles where she represented a range of interactive entertainment companies including Vivendi, Humongous (Atari), MTV’s Xfire and Codemasters.  She joins WComms from Los Angeles firm Pacific Media Partners, where she worked on campaigns for WorldGaming.com and Jumpgate Evolution, as well as launching products for WolfKing and Fanatec.  As senior account executive on the digital media/interactive entertainment team, Racheal will handle media relations for WComms’ clients, including Moblyng Games and Realtime Worlds.  She brings with her a lifelong love of video games and all things geek, in addition to her experience in successfully launching several online games, console games and peripherals.

WComms Welcomes Interactive Entertainment PR Pro Palmira Farrow as Account Supervisor

LOS ANGELES – Feb. 24, 2009 – Wonacott Communications, a full-service public relations and integrated communications agency, welcomes the talents of public relations professional Palmira Farrow to its growing team.  As Account Supervisor, Palmira will handle corporate communications, media relations, product and service launches and digital/new media communications strategies for a number of WComms’ clients.

Palmira comes to WComms from Electronic Arts (EA), the world’s largest video game publisher, where she spearheaded public relations programs for more than 20 titles across all platforms; PC, console and portable.  With experience under several labels of EA, she brings an understanding of and passion for a variety of genres, from role-playing  (RPG) and real-time strategy (RTS) games  to children’s and mobile games. Palmira is seasoned in launching various types of entertainment properties, including managing events, media tours and tradeshow appearances, she has a media and industry network of great depth and breadth.

Prior to EA she was the marketing and PR head for a San Francisco start-up, and was an account manager for a New York-based advertising agency before that.  On the agency side, she has worked with a variety of clients, from Folonari Wines and The New Yorker Hotel to pro bono work promoting the charming New York City district, The Lower East Side. 

She holds a Master of Business Administration in International Management from The Thunderbird School of Global Management, Glendale, Ariz., and a Bachelor of Art in Romance Languages from Colorado College.
