SpongeBob may be an iconic fry cook, but here at Wonacott Communications, we’re known to cook up some goodness ourselves – like how we recently served up our support for Nighthawk Interactive’s SpongeBob: Krusty Cook-Off “Extra Krusty Edition” Nintendo Switch physical launch. Our Michelin-star PR efforts reeled in multiple giveaways from top-tier targets and plenty of review and Let’s Play interest from schools of media and influencers who were excited to get their hands on this special physical edition.
The nautical nonsense began in November 2022 when we announced pre-orders for the “Extra Krusty Edition,” cooking up hits from Bleeding Cool, ComingSoon, Nintendo Everything and more. Three months later, we announced the launch and secured even more krustastic coverage with media including GoNintendo, Nickalive.net and GameSpace.
The fun didn’t stop there though – we knew everyone would want a chance behind the grill, so we coordinated some giveaways! Our pitching resulted in seven giveaways from Bleeding Cool, ComingSoon, Slant Magazine, Cheap Ass Gamer and more. We even got picked up by Yahoo! Entertainment which has us saying “yahoo” ourselves!
Weeks after launch, we’re still dishing out review and Let’s Play copies to eager media and influencers including Gaming Cypher, KwingLetsPlays and POPnGAMES – in addition to GameTyrant’s hot off the grill review! We’re looking forward to their coverage and finding out if they enjoy flipping patties as much as we do. 😊
