Like the rest of you, we were surprised (and yet, not that surprised) that E3 was cancelled this year. But as we’ve seen over the past couple of years, the games industry is resilient and still found a way to fill June with awesome games news. Our friends at UK-based publisher Fireshine Games included. They had a brand-new trailer highlighting the upcoming Sunken Sea update for its massively successful sandbox adventure game, Core Keeper. You can check our blog here to learn how we launched the game into Early Access stardom.
Maximizing on the success of Core Keeper we began conversations with top tier outlets planning their own showcases that had previously shown interest in this popular indie offering, securing interest with IGN’s Summer of Gaming 2022 and PC Gamer’s PC Gaming Showcase.
It was important to be very collaborative with Fireshine Games and the media to ensure that what we delivered to each outlet was unique, so audiences were getting something different at each event. Thanks to Fireshine and the devs at Pugstorm, the assets and trailers created stood out on their own giving fans a sneak peek at some new content on IGN’s Summer of Gaming 2022 and a full 60-second dive into the Sunken Sea update on the PC Gaming Showcase.
Seeing the trailers presented on each show and reading the awesome comments from the fans tuning in was super rewarding. When the Sunken Sea update launched in the following days, it was a massive hit as Fireshine Games later reported that sales reached over 1 million just after two weeks. Featuring trailers on these gaming showcases truly help excite the community and generate more success for the game.
We’re already look forward to E3 2023 to help our clients share their awesome announcements and trailer drops with the gaming community. Until then, stay tuned to our latest happenings on our Wonablog!
