Thatgamecompany’s peaceful MMO, Sky: Children of the Light, finally launched for PC this week and we locked in tons of impressive coverage for the announcement, particularly in Europe. From placements with Eurogamer, Rock Paper Shotgun, PCGamesN, VGC and JeuxOnline, just to name a few, our heads were certainly not in the clouds for this one.
In addition to our impressive European coverage, we also locked in placements with media such as Inverse, GameSpot, MSN Canada, MMORPG.com and Massively Overpowered, amongst plenty others. And with a huge sale of Sky’s critically acclaimed predecessor, Journey, tied into Sky’s Steam launch, we took advantage of this as well and locked in an awesome article from Polygon, which made the front page!
Adding to this coverage, we secured a talk for thatgamecompany CEO Jenova Chen at last month’s GDC and set up an interview between him and PC Gamer’s Lauren Morton, who we know to be a big fan of Sky. From this, we’ve locked in two wonderful features detailing Sky’s non-toxic design and Dark Souls inspiration.
We’re still collecting coverage just like Sky kids collect candles and we’re feeling above the clouds about it. We admire how much the lovely team at thatgamecompany cares about their fans, and we’re elated to keep up our support, including this summer in Tokyo as Sky celebrates its fifth anniversary with SkyFest.
Make sure to check out Sky on Steam and keep reading our Wonablog to find out the latest happenings with thatgamecompany.
