The PR Paladin’s Favorite Tech at CES 2017

I’ve always followed CES from afar, but never had an opportunity to attend. This year I got the opportunity to take in the show by staffing Pico Interactive, Inc’s booth and showcasing the company’s amazing new VR headset – the Pico Neo CV. I could *not* have been more ecstatic. We met with a ton of people over the course of the show, including big sites such as Wareable, CNET and The Verge. We also showed the headset to two players from the San Diego Chargers – not a bad way to start the show.

In between the booth shenanigans I had some opportunity to do quick laps around the show floor – and saw some really cool technology. While I check out a lot, there were a few items that caught my eye, making me want them more and more once they are available. Here are my personal top favorite tech of CES:

Razer – Project Valkyrie

The idea of a three-screen laptop is novel enough and it looks really good. I’m curious to see real world performance, but this is definitely something I have my eye on.

Retro-Bit – Supe Retro / RetroDuo / Novelty Controller

Admittedly, while it isn’t new tech, I am always seeking out new ways to play my classic games. With Retro-Bit, I came for the giant controller and stayed for the potential of reliving my classics without pulling out my old wires.

ZTE – Axon 7 / Axon 7 Mini / Axon 7 Max

I really liked the Axon 7 when it came out, and I was curious to see what ZTE had to show. The phones looked and performed great. It was also neat to see (from what I can tell) these phones power this exhibition of a cityscape.

I am bummed I didn’t get a chance to see this laptop in person, but the sheer power of this computer really impressed me. While it is bulky and VERY expensive, I am attracted to novelty and having a curved screen and powerful specs definitely appears to me.

This was my very first CES and I am definitely making sure it won’t be my last. With the amount of cool technology, gadgets and the occasional odd do-dad thrown into the mix, I am already planning out a trip to Vegas next year.
