Another year, another round of awards for the Wonacott crew! Working hand-in-hand with videogames is enough of an award itself, but we’d be lying if we said the extra recognition didn’t make us love our jobs even more. The 2017 MarCom Awards honored us with two coveted Platinum awards, the organization’s top honor, for the following campaign submissions:
- “The Two-Year PR Marathon for Boss Key’s LawBreakers Videogame”
- Category: Communication Program
- “Covert PR – Securing Impossible Reveal Coverage for VR Game Moss”
- Category: Special Event
You may notice this is our second year in a row we took home awards for LawBreakers’ PR efforts – we’ve also won a PRism Award with PRSA-LA and the In2 Sabre Awards. It’s been an insanely long build-up to the game’s release earlier this year, but we still managed to execute a fiercely active plan that kept Nexon America and Boss Key Production’s marquee title directly in the media’s limelight. With Polyarc’s Moss, one of the most anticipated PSVR games releasing in 2018, we overcame rigid pre-announce guidelines straight from Sony to plan one of Wonacott’s best showings at E3 in the company’s history. You can read more about what we accomplished here, but just know that the “Impossible” part of our submission’s title is hardly an overstatement. Full disclosure though: there’s no way in hell we would have won this award if it wasn’t for Moss’ adorable mouse protagonist, Quill. Seriously – LOOK AT HER. Not even the good folks at MarCom could resist those charms.
