This year proved to be a showcase of insanely impressive video game development, our clients included! From Warframe’s game-changing Duviri Paradox update to Nexon’s plethora of popular mobile game content, we got to show off and support several revolutionary moments for free-to-play gamers. Now, as 2023 hits its high notes, what better way for Digital Extremes and Nexon to cap it off than to celebrate at The Game Awards? We were thrilled to roll out the red carpet and be on the scene to help reveal Digital Extremes’ Whispers in the Walls release date and show off an epic trailer for Nexon’s The First Berserker: Khazan.
While The Game Awards spotlights industry achievements and honors the indispensable talents shaping the games landscape (deservedly so), it’s also a huge night where the curtain lifts and reveals the games we’ll all collectively be excited about in the coming years. Both Digital Extremes and Nexon had big things up their sleeves, so we hit the ground running.
Digital Extremes
Digital Extremes, riding high on its 10th year of service (yes, you read that right), unleashed Whispers in the Walls at The Game Awards, a huge cinematic quest that takes players on a subterranean investigation into Warframe’s distant past. To amp up the excitement, we promoted a well-attended exclusive mixer, giving press a backstage pass to meet TGA-winner Neil Newbon (Baldur’s Gate 3) and fellow nominee Ben Starr (Final Fantasy XVI), both of whom joined the Warframe universe. We had a great time chatting with our friends at Digital Extremes and matching press names to faces. After sharing the Whispers in the Walls release date news and trailer, we scored over 25 dedicated articles and earned spots in 13 roundups, including news pieces with Sportskeeda, Destructoid and MMORPG.
For more Warframe fun, Whispers in the Walls is available now on all major platforms!
Nexon
When Nexon handed us the plan to unveil The First Berserker: Khazan, the next chapter in the popular Dungeon & Fighter franchise, we knew media and players alike would be stoked to get a peek at its unique blend of anime-esque aesthetics and Soulslike action. After pre-pitching the trailer and distributing the launch press release, the response was an overwhelming success! Action fans were mesmerized by the epic visuals and fluid combat of Khazan, and the media support was just as loud.
We secured a surge of 47 dedicated hits following the show and roundups with over 25 outlets. Notable coverage included Vandal, Rock Paper Shotgun, Game Pressure, Everyeye, The Nerd Stash and Game Informer.
The First Bersker: Khazan is coming soon to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
Getting to be at The Game Awards sitting right beside the Digital Extremes team and helping out Nexon with an explosive reveal was an absolute honor, topped off by watching the talented Neil Newbon take the stage to accept his well-deserved win for Best Performance.
What a night and on to the new year! Hats off to all the winners and nominees. Stay tuned for more from Nexon and Digital Extremes as we continue our PR support.
