“Can you shut up about all your VR projects already?” No, no we can’t. VR is frickin’ awesome and we’re excited to be part of the ever-growing trend.
In fact, we recently began working with European publisher Perp Games, a company that focuses exclusively on bringing VR titles to store shelves. Perp collaborates with VR developers both large and small to get their products to the masses. We’re helping them forge their way into North America with a range of VR retail launches, and kickstarted our partnership by launching two exciting racing games, Radial-G: Racing Revolved and VR Karts.
These two racing titles are conceptually and stylistically very different, but that fact becomes the foundation of our media pitching rather than a hurdle. Since both games were launching the same day, we announced both with a joint press release and pitched the news as “VR racing games for everyone.”
Knowing that Radial-G hooks the older generation seeking out intense gameplay while VR Karts appeals to a younger kart-racing crowd, we bundled these two games together to show that Perp is launching games for all ages and interest groups across a deep portfolio.
As the games were already available digitally and had been pretty widely reviewed, we focused on securing coverage for the retail launch itself. We locked in launch coverage with key relevant outlets including one of the top PlayStation interest outlets PlayStation LifeStyle, major VR interest sites such as VRFocus and VR and Fun.
We’re revving up for more VR retail launches to come – stay tuned!
